ACI UK Summer Newsletter 2010

The days are beginning to warm up so we know that summer is nearing. We look forward to seeing you at one of our First Thursdays where you can network with other ACI members or just pop in for a drink. The evenings are very informal and we welcome new faces- only our formal Summer and Christmas are for members only. Golf Day 26th April 2010 A long standing supporter of the Variety Club, ACI held their annual Golf Day at the end of April at the prestigious Brocket Hall. 21 teams entered and had a magnificent day. The winners of the main event were the Northern Trust team with 96 points, with the teams from Progress Apama and Barclays Capital coming second and third respectively. The total raised was over £22,900; we were able to fund the purchase of the Variety Club Sunshine Coach,-presented by Linda Lusardi to the children and staff from Beacon Hill School in Essex- entirely from the money raised on the day. Summer Reception 2010 The Summer Barbeque on 3^rd June was held on the rooftop of Hamilton Place overlooking Hyde Park. Both the weather and food were glorious and 100 members enjoyed a really special evening. Look out for details of the Christmas reception on 2^nd December. This will also be a members-only event.

ICA Congress The 36^th Interarab Cambist Association (ICA) Congress is taking place in Turkey from 30 September - 3^rd October. To find out more about the Istanbul conference log on to www.icaconference.com . This is expected to be a world class, thrilling event.

Membership Renewals Memberships are now overdue; many emails have been sent out so please check your inboxes! If you did not receive one please email membership(at)aci-uk.com. Alternatively email the names of members to renew and we will invoice you. Please note, if you have recently requested an invoice you will receive it shortly.

Dealing Simulation Course This year's course is taking place toward the end of the year, 15^th - 19^th November. Registration is due to open this month so keep an eye out if you're interested- the last two courses have been over-subscribed with delegates from across the globe and there is already a considerable amount of interest in this years' course. First Thursday Event Sponsorship The First Thursday Events are increasing in popularity and attendance so if your organisation would like to consider sponsoring one then contact sponsorship(at)aci-uk.com for more information; August, September and November are still available. A great networking opportunity, sponsorships are agreed on a first-come-first-served basis, so get involved! July's First Thursday will be held at the Anthologist bar in Gresham Street, hope to see you there.
