ACI UK News and Coming Events!
The ACI Foreign Exchange Committee (ACI FXC) has responded formally to the FSB Consultation on Benchmarking, providing feedback and recommendations on the role and use of benchmarks in the FX market. The overriding recommendation of ACI FXC and the International Secretariat is that the global industry - sell and buy sides and regulators - should formally adopt the ACI Model Code as the standard of conduct for all market participants and the benchmark of 'best practice' in the foreign exchange industry.
ACI UK fully supports and promotes formal adherence to the ACI Model Code, a single, globally recognised, unbiased and industry wide code for the global foreign exchange market that addresses the specific benchmarking issues addressed by the FSB Consultative Document. As Morgan McDonnell, ACI UK President, observes: "As someone once said, the trouble with standards is that there are so many to choose from. With the ACI Model Code, the FX industry already has a single, global code of conduct which has been adopted as the de facto standard of behaviour in many countries. And as the ACI FXC notes in its response to the FSB Consultation "while single platform and national/regional codes may sit alongside a global code, there should be few (if any) differences in the application of these codes on market practice".
ACI's full response is here. To discuss the adoption and application of the ACI Model Code within your organisation, contact Morgan McDonnell, ACI UK President and/or Sue Attwood, ACI UK Managing Director.

The 16th ACI UK Charity Golf Day was held on Monday 14th July 2014 at Buckinghamshire Golf Club (near Denham). All in all, the event (and pre-event auction) raised over £38,000, a fantastic sum that will fund another Sunshine Coach and also support other charitable events like the Variety Big Top Christmas event held annually for some 600 children. Once again we had a full complement of teams; our apologies to those of you who weren’t able to join us this year. It’s always a challenge to fit in as many players as possible without overcrowding the course. That said, the ‘shotgun’ format is great for getting everyone playing at the same time, ensuring that we can all get together before and after the golf to swap stories! The weather was stunning and as the course had been the venue for the PGA Ladies Masters the previoius week, it could not have been in better condition.
First prize went to LCH Clearnet (the only team to walk the course!) with 94 points. Caplin came second with 93 points, with Flextrade a very close third (also with 93 points). Scoring was very close - 2nd and 3rd positions were decided only after counting back 6 holes! Dan Beale won longest drive and Gary Field hit the straightest drive, with Andrew Brown and Jeff Chadney winners of 'nearest the pin' in two contests. Congratulations to all of our winning teams and individuals.Congratulations to all of our winning teams and individual players. This year’s Diamond Sponsor was CME Group. Our sincerest thanks to them and all other sponsors and contributors to this fantastic annual fundraising event.
